To celebrate our dedicated members pulling together so many successful events amidst the rising pressure of deadlines, we are launching our new website!
Here you will find all things environmental as we continue to promote the sustainable interests of Graduate Institute students. All of our events, photos and Facebook posts will be gathered here, plus extra articles written by committee members on current issues!
The past week of engaging events at The Graduate Institute has been the culmination of hard work from the environmental committee!
Our ‘Swap Your Stuff’ event was a great success, with a collection of students bringing their old clothes and household items for use to hand on to others. Using pasta as tokens, each person who contributed was given one piece, which they could use at any time throughout the event to purchase another donated item. Everything left over at the end of the day was taken to be donated to Les Fingantes, an organization that works with women going out of sex work or facing other difficulties with social and professional reintegration.
Later in the week, we invited students to come and see ‘Before The Flood’ is a casual setting within one of the Institute’s classrooms. We had drinks and snacks, and stayed to discuss the film once it was over. All in all, both events were a great success.
To cap off a great week, we brought together professionals from all over International Geneva to give their opinions on the future of sustainability in the workplace at our ‘Green Careers Now!’ event. Starting off with a panel discussion featuring high-profile figures in sustainability, the event transitioned in to a career speed dating hour for students to speak with Graduate Institute alumni.
Here’s to more great work throughout the semester!
